报告题目：Novel Materials Phenomena at Metal-Semiconductor Interface

报告内容： In recent years, we have reached fundamental understanding of the Metal-induced crystallization process in various metal/semiconductor   systems (e.g. Al/a-Si, Al/a-Ge, Au/a-Si, Ag/a-Si etc.) and for various microstructural architectures, by combining thermodynamic model predictions of the successive reaction stages with comprehensive experimental investigations using (in situ) TEM, XRD and AES. We have disclosed the occurrence of extraordinarily high mobility of interfacial Si and Ge atoms in contact with Al metal at temperatures as low as 80 K. Accounting for the crucial role of interface thermodynamics, the different MIC temperatures and behaviours can now be understood and predicted on a unified basis. Our fundamental understanding of the MIC process allows systematic adjustment of the crystallization temperature of a-Si from 700 ºC down to 150 ºC, as required in various state-of-the-art technologies. Further, innovative processes for growth of crystalline semiconductor nanostructures at exceedingly low temperatures have recently been realized.

报告人简介：王祖敏，1979年10月生，天津大学教授、博士生导师。1996年进入中国科学技术大学学习，先后于2000年和2005年获学士和博士学位；随后在德国马普学会金属研究所从事博士后研究；2008年至2015年在德国马普学会金属研究所担任高级研究人员与研究组长；2015年回国加盟天津大学材料学院，担任教授、博士生导师。主要从事金属材料界面研究。在Phys. Rev. Lett.（3篇），Adv. Mater.（1篇），Nano Lett.（1篇），Acta Mater.（6篇）（均以第一/独立通讯作者身份）等国际期刊发表学术论文60余篇。研究成果得到国际同行、学术协会和相关媒体的广泛关注与肯定，重大成果先后3次被德国Max Planck学会作为学术亮点在其官方网站首页进行专题报道。基于在金属材料界面研究领域所取得的学术成就，于2013年荣获德国马普学会Günter Petzow Prize，是该奖项历史上的第一位外籍获奖者。2016年入选国家“千人计划”青年项目。
